Because our website calendar doesn’t like events that last more than a day and often fails to display them properly, we’re going to keep a running list of ART EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS right here with “Artie,” the paint-splattered pooch as our mascot. Creative Frameworks Frame Shop and Gallery – 1302 Gloucester Street

Works by local artists and photographers on display in the frame shop’s gallery each month – opening reception during First Friday.

Golden Isles Arts & Humanities is pleased to host Retrospective 2024 – The Art of Robert Smith in the Millie Wilcox Gallery opening with a community reception during the First Friday festivities between 5-8pm on July 5. Artist and recently retired art educator at Glynn Academy, Robert Smith, shares the landscapes, still lifes and wildlife that he has created as an undergraduate, graduate student, middle and high school art teacher over the last thirty years.  He invites viewers to take a visual journey with him as he looks back on the work that he has created and that helped inspire many young artists in his classrooms over the years. The exhibit will remain on display through July 31. 

Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p. m. and during performances and events. Admission to all art exhibits in The Wilcox Gallery at the Ritz Theatre is free. SoGlo Gallery – 1413 Newcastle Street


The Big Photo Show, TBPS, is an exhibit showcasing photographs of the Coastal Photographers Guild members. It is an opportunity for the Guild’s photographers to pull the public into their compelling images of Nature, Scapes (land, sea, sky, city, urban), Black and White, Open, and Open Creative & Technology. It is a juried exhibit with winners chosen in all categories and with one special winner voted for by the viewing public. The TBPS is the largest photography exhibit in the Golden Isles, and this year’s show is its 16th effort. For more information about the Guild, visit coastalphotographersguild.com.

Southeast Georgia Health System – Horton Gallery, located on Brunswick Campus, adjacent to the Outpatient Care Center

Art by local artists is featured monthly in the Horton Gallery at the Southeast Georgia Heallth System.

Normal gallery hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.


Anderson Fine Art Gallery – 3309 Frederica Rd.

Works on display in Anderson Fine Art Gallery include an outstanding group of professional and emerging artists and offers landscapes, still life, and some non-representational works. Seasonal exhibitions complement their curated core collection of paintings and sculpture. New works from several of the gallery’s artists on display through June.

Anderson Studio Gallery – 100 Sylvan Drive, Suite 170

Anderson Studio Gallery, formerly known as the Artists Annex, located right around the corner from Anderson Fine Art Gallery, is now a remodeled gallery, featuring pop-up exhibits and is the location for the many workshops hosted by Anderson Fine Art Gallery. These workshops have been held for more than 15 years and are taught by professional artists from across the country who come to the island to instruct fellow painters. Students travel year-round to attend the studio and plein air workshops. Full workshop schedule can be found at workshopsonstsimonsisland.com and attached below. Artist Sherry Egger also offers private instruction by appointment in the studio.

ArtTrends Gallery – 3305 Frederica Road

ArtTrends Gallery currently has its Summer Exhibition on display through August 24. The exhibition showcases an array of fine art by regional artists Ella Cart, Dottie Clark, Trish Rugaber, Dina Deason, Bettina Dickson Rusher, Kathryn, McClain, and Walter Hobbs. The original artworks on display encompass a variety of styles and mediums.

Glynn Visual Arts – 106 Island Drive

JUNE 18-JULY 26: LINDA BOBINGER “THE JOY OF LIFE” – A showcase of Bobinger’s mastery of sculptural expression, featuring a diverse range of works that span sculpture-in-the-round and relief. Each piece invites viewers to embark on a visual journey, exploring themes of joy, movement, and the human experience. “I use humor and distortion in my figures to capture certain emotions that I want to depict,” says Bobinger, reflecting on her artistic process. Opening reception Thursday, June 20 – 5:30-7pm. Don’t miss this chance to meet Linda and experience her unique, expressive work!

Golden Isles CVB Welcome Center – 529 Beachview Drive

The CVB Welcome Center on St. Simons Island has art by local artists on display and available for purchase in its Live Oak Shop. Featured artists in July are Emily Stewart and Nancy Avery. Regular hours are Monday – Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm; Sunday 12:00pm – 5:00pm

Hotel Simone – 1200 Ocean Boulevard

Suzanne Scaglione is the current Artist in Residency at Hotel Simone in partnership with Glynn Visual Arts (GVA). Rugaber is the sixth artist to be featured in this series since its launch in January of 2023. GVA is the oldest arts organization in the area with a mission to enrich the community by stimulating interest and participation in the visual arts while providing St. Simons Island and the broader Golden Isles community with a center for creative expression, a source of art education, and a showcase for art and artists both locally and nationally celebrated.

Julep Gallery – 269 Redfern Village and now upstairs at Dutchmans Casual Living

A colorfully curated new art gallery in Redfern Village on St. Simons Island. Everyone is welcome to visit. Open 11am-5pm Tuesday-Friday and 11am-3pm Saturday.

Wallin Gallery – 3360 Frederica Road

Original abstract artwork by Ken Wallin on display at his studio. By appointment only.


Jekyll Island Art Association – Goodyear Cottage – Historic District

Jekyll Island Arts Association presents Wild Jekyll featuring photography capturing the wildlife and natural beauty of Jekyll Island by John Valadas on display July 1-31. Opening reception Sunday, July 7, 1-3pm. 

Regular Hours: Weekdays noon-4pm and Weekends 10am-4pm. Admission is free.



Thursday-Sunday, July 4-7

Crafts in the Village returns to Postell Park on St. Simons Island. Come shop handmade and original art, skincare, candles, specialty foods and more from local artists and makers. Free to attend. Visit the Crafts in the Village Facebook page to see previews of vendors participating each month and any special activities or live music. Vendors on site 10am-5pm Thursday-Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday. 

First Friday, July 5
