Whether Dad is firing up the grill on Father’s Day, the family is gathering for a Juneteenth Jubilee or you’re having a 4th of July picnic, these recipes spotlight the fresh fruit and garden veggies that are plentiful through the summer.

What’s in season in June? Georgia peaches are at their peak and we still have blueberries coming in. The farm stands and farmers markets will have ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and bell peppers. Don’t forget to treat Dad to a special meal like our Grilled Honey Chipotle Salmon Packs on Father’s Day, June 16. Red Velvet Cupcakes are ideal to take to any Juneteenth celebration on June 19. In July, get as much fresh corn as you can, so you can eat corn on the cob and use those sweet kernels in salads — maybe freeze some for later too! The Mexican Street Corn Dip is a big hit at parties and backyard BBQs! Okra, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash are still plentiful. In August, melons are at their peak, so we have a Honey Mint Melon Salad you’ll want to eat every day. Kids won’t even notice that healthy veggies are hidden in the Chocolate Zucchini Muffins you can bake for breakfast or an after-school treat as they head back to the classroom.

  • Stop by the nearest farm stand to grab some juicy ripe tomatoes. They’re joined by fresh basil as the stars of the show for this summery pasta dish.

  • Sweet fruit cobbler doesn’t get much easier than this toss-together, bake and go version using fresh Georgia peaches. It’s the taste of a Southern summer!

  • If your summer garden leaves you with an overload of zucchini, this recipe is a great way to use it up and maybe even sneaky some healthy veggies into a breakfast treat for the kids as they head back to school.

  • Mexican elotes in a dip! Spicy, cheesy goodness and fresh summer corn. Need we say more?!

  • A Southern dessert staple, red velvet cake is often served for Juneteenth celebrations. We’re offering a cupcake version you can bring to the party.

  • This recipe combines a turkey burger with the tasty tzatziki and fresh cucumbers and tomatoes stuffed into a pita for a delicious Greek inspired lunch or dinner offering.

  • An ideal summer party dessert. Conveniently served in mason jars, blueberries and strawberries with angel food cake chunks and sweet creamy topping have patriotic flair, but you can use whatever fruit suits your taste.

  • These grilled pineapple chicken kabobs with fresh peppers from the garden are a favorite at any summer get-together. Kids and adults love the flavors (you can always omit the sriracha if too spicy) and they’re easy to serve and eat.

  • Who needs applesauce to go with pork chops when there are sweet summer peaches? This recipe may have you double-thinking what’s a better combo.

  • Love fried okra, but don’t like the hassle of frying? Here’s a recipe that uses an air fryer to make the popular crispy summer veggie treat.

  • Take advantage of peak melon season and serve up this delicious salad that turns up the flavors with a touch of honey and mint as a brunch or lunch option or even a side at dinner.
